Experts and coast guards from other countries will meet with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on March 13, Monday, to discuss how they can assist the country address the oil spill in Oriental Mindoro, the PCG chief said.

Abu said the team from Japan, which arrived on Friday, have met with PCG personnel and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
The PCG chief said the teams or experts from other countries must be briefed first as the government is taking a scientific approach to containing the oil spill.
PCG commandant said the seaworthiness of the MT Princess Empress is still being investigated.
The oil tanker, which sank last month and spilled 800,000 litres of industrial fuel oil, has been located 389.1 meters below sea level, and 13.89 kilometers northeast of Balingawan Point of Pola, Mindoro.
