PAGASA Weather Update – As of 8:00 AM, 29 June 2025
Coverage: 4:00 AM, June 29 – 4:00 AM, June 30, 2025
PAGASA is currently monitoring a Low Pressure Area (LPA) located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 8:00 AM today. This LPA has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours. Although it poses no immediate threat, the public is advised to remain alert and to monitor official weather updates from DOST-PAGASA.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to influence the weather in many parts of the country. Metro Manila, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. These areas may experience flash floods or landslides, especially during heavy rainfall.
Other regions such as the Bicol Region, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Although the rain may be lighter, strong thunderstorms could still trigger localized flooding and landslides, especially in flood-prone or mountainous areas.
The rest of Luzon will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a chance of isolated thunderstorms caused by localized weather systems. Sudden heavy rain may lead to minor flooding, so residents are encouraged to be cautious, particularly in low-lying areas or locations with poor drainage.
Winds across the country will be light to moderate, coming from various directions depending on the region. Coastal waters will be slight to moderate, with wave heights between 0.6 and 1.5 meters. While sea travel remains generally safe, mariners should still be alert for any weather changes, especially during thunderstorms. PAGASA reminds everyone to stay informed, prepared, and safe amid ongoing monsoon conditions. Claire
