Agents of the land Transportation Office (LTO) apprehended a total of 617 motorists for various traffic violations during a month-long operations in western part of Metro Manila in January this year.
Roque I. Verzosa III, director of the LTO- National Capital Region West (LTO-NCR West), said most of the motorists were apprehended for violating Republic Act 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, majority of the 333 violators were due to defective accessories, devices, equipment, and parts.
The LTO-NCR West covers the cities of Manila, Pasay, Makati, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Muntinlupa, and Las Pinas.
A total of 32 motorists were accosted for failure to carry OR/CR (official receipt/car registration) while driving a motor vehicle; 23 for driver wearing slippers; 17 for unregistered motor vehicle ; 17 for unauthorized MV modification; 12 for illegal terminal; 11 for motor vehicle operating with unauthorized accessories, devices, equipment, and parts; 10 for reckless driving; 10 for obstruction (10); and nine for driving without a valid driver’s license.
