At the heart of this landmark event was Charina Carmen Cabading-Josol, whose presence elevated the runway into a powerful expression of elegance, versatility, and modern femininity. She walked in three segments of the event.
SUBIC BAY, PHILIPPINES – CasaDeModa Manila, in cooperation with DRMP Entertainment Production, celebrated a decade of fashion excellence with the successful staging of the Filipino Fashion Designers Gala (FFDG) Season 10. Titled “Sommera: Sun, Sand & Style,” the milestone event drew a full-capacity audience yesterday at the iconic Piazza Boardwalk at Subic Bay Yacht Club, Subic Bay, Philippines, resulting in a completely sold-out show and reaffirming its place as one of the most anticipated fashion events of the season.

Under the creative direction of lead designer James Paul, the scenic boardwalk was transformed into a breathtaking open-air runway featuring approximately 60 professional models, including a strong roster from DRMP Models. The showcase highlighted collections from esteemed designers Allen Chen, Mary Grace Lee, and Ana Matutina, alongside global brands such as Shein and H&M, as well as Laces & Silk and Badbado Fashion Boutique. CasaDeModa Manila’s own labels—CDM Kids, CDM Taiwan, and CasaDeModa Manila—added diversity and depth to the presentation.

A reigning Mrs. Universe and Grand Winner Ultimate of Grand Global Ambassador International 2025, Charina Carmen Cabading-Josol stood out as both a featured ramp model and the finale walker for her CasaDeModa Manila segment. Her closing walk became one of the most memorable highlights of the evening—marked by poise, confidence, and a commanding stage presence that captivated the audience.
Sharing this special moment on the runway was her son, Gerard Josol, who also walked in two segments as one of the featured models. A graduating Grade 6 student from PAREF Southridge School and a consistent honor student, Gerard brought excellence, his good looks, and charm to the runway. Together, they created a meaningful and inspiring moment, showcasing not only fashion but also the strength of a mother-and-son bond.

Beyond the runway, Josol further showcased her artistry with a live performance of “Flowers,” adding emotional depth and versatility to the overall presentation.
Her influence continues to expand across multiple platforms. She is set to serve as a judge for the Royale Regalia Competition on April 23, as well as for the coronation night of King of the World Philippines 2026, led by its owner and CEO, Mr. Meg Perez. Internationally, she is also scheduled to walk at the Milano Fashion Week Festival this September 2026 at Palazzo Lita in Milan, Italy, under Rochie Couture Finland, marking another milestone in her global fashion journey.

Josol is also stepping into film alongside her son, Gerard Josol, as part of the cast of the upcoming movie “Coming Home,” which stars Mygz Molino and Jeric Gonzales. In the film, Gerard portrays the young Mygz, while Josol takes on the role of his mother, reflecting their real-life bond on screen.
The film’s teaser will be launched on May 24 during Mygz Molino’s concert in Pampanga, where Josol will also perform as a featured singer, further showcasing her versatility as a performer. Both will join the full cast at the said event to promote the movie, directed by Neil Tan and produced by JC Productions.
Continuing her dynamic schedule, Josol will also take part in the “Model Moms” awarding and crowning on May 31 at Viva Cafe Philippines in Quezon City, led by Best Magazine CEO Richard Hinola. During the event, she will be crowned and honored as Model Mom Universe 2026, while also performing multiple songs and participating in a fashion show segment, highlighting her versatility and stage presence.
In addition, her musical journey continues with the release of her debut single “Carry On,” and the launch of the official music video on the same day, marking an exciting new chapter in her career.
The tenth season of the Filipino Fashion Designers Gala stands as a testament to CasaDeModa Manila and DRMP Entertainment Production’s dedication to elevating Filipino fashion. By blending global brands with local design excellence, “Sommera” delivered more than a runway show—it created a multidimensional celebration of creativity, identity, and expression.
At its core, the event was not only a celebration of fashion but a celebration of legacy. Through their shared runway experience and ever-evolving artistic journey, Charina Carmen Cabading Josol and Gerard Josol exemplify a narrative of passion, talent, and the enduring power of family. Their story proves that true style transcends clothing, thriving in the meaningful moments and memories we create together.
