The repatriation of OFWs based in Lebanon has been delayed due to the recent launch of the Israel to the Hezbollah group, the Department of Migrant Workers said on Wednesday.
According to the DMW, 15 OFWS were supposed to leave Lebanon on September 25, 2024, but were delayed and moved due to the recent explosions in Beirut.
Of the 15, one of them had a medical condition and is rescheduled to fly back on October 11, 2024, while the remaining 12 is set to join the other 17 OFWs who are set to fly back on October 22, 2024.
Moreover, the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Beirut is also arranging the repatriation of 63 OFWs who have complete clearance and documentation to leave Lebanon.
A total of 430 OFWs and 28 dependents have been repatriated so far from Lebanon due to the collective efforts of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), DMW, and the OWWA.
