The Department of Justice (DOJ) urged Timor Leste authorities to immediately repatriate former Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr. after the arrest last March 21.
The agency received information that the Criminal Investigation Police is receiving a total of P114,000 ($2,000) from Teves’ son to give his father a special treatment even outside prison.
Tevez is currently in pre-trial detention inside Becora, prison. The ex-lawmaker was arrested while playing golf in Dili, Timor-Leste after he was included on the Interpol red list.
Tevez was accused of the assassination of Negros Oriental Gov Roel Dagamo on March 4, 2023.
