WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed recent speculation about his health, labeling the reports as “fake news” and insisting he remains in good physical condition. Speaking over the Labor Day weekend, Trump said he had been active throughout the holiday, giving media interviews and visiting his golf club in Virginia. “I’ve been very active—more than most,” he stated, brushing off any concerns about his well-being.
The remarks followed growing public scrutiny of Trump’s health, particularly after a brief absence from public view and recent appearances showing visible swelling and bruising. Seeking to address the rumors directly, Trump made a public appearance during the holiday weekend, projecting confidence and downplaying any health-related concerns.
According to a statement from the White House medical team, the swelling in Trump’s legs is caused by chronic venous insufficiency, a condition common in individuals over the age of 70. Officials also explained the bruising on his hand as the result of frequent handshakes combined with regular aspirin use, which can lead to easier bruising due to blood thinning.
Medical staff emphasized that there are no serious health concerns at this time. They confirmed that President Trump remains alert, physically active, and fully capable of performing his regular responsibilities. “He continues to maintain a demanding schedule and is in good spirits,” the statement read.
While critics continue to raise questions about the president’s age and stamina, his team has worked to shift the conversation toward transparency and resilience. As Trump remains a central figure in American politics, both allies and critics are paying close attention—not only to what he says, but to his health as well.
