MANILA, Philippines — Filipina tennis star Alex Eala and Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime have received a wildcard entry to the US Open mixed doubles main draw.
Eala and Auger-Aliassime are among the wildcard pairings announced for the tournament. Other wildcard entries include Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori, Leylah Fernandez and Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Townsend and Alexander Zverev, and Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils.
Several high-profile pairings earned direct entry, including Aryna Sabalenka and Novak Djokovic, Elena Rybakina and Taylor Fritz, Diana Shnaider and Daniil Medvedev, Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud, Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli, and Amanda Anisimova and Learner Tien.
Aside from the singles and mixed doubles competitions, Eala is also set to participate in the Stars of the Open exhibition event.
Eala enters the US Open after reaching the Round of 32 at the Cincinnati Open, where she was eliminated by world No. 10 Amanda Anisimova.
