MANILA, Philippines — Filipino group SB19 is strengthening its presence in Japan through major festival performances, music collaborations and television appearances as it continues its push into the international music scene.
The group made its debut at Summer Sonic 2026, one of Japan’s major music festivals, performing in both Osaka and Tokyo alongside international headliners and leading Japanese artists.
For member PABLO, performing in both cities marked the realization of a long-held dream and another milestone for the group.
“Appearing in both Osaka and Tokyo marks another milestone for us, and we’re extremely grateful for the opportunity to introduce SB19 to Japanese audiences and connect with them,” PABLO said.
In Tokyo, SB19 joined the Pacific Stage lineup, which also featured Japanese artist Kento Nakajima. One of the event’s highlights came when Nakajima joined SB19 onstage for a performance of the group’s viral hit “Gento.”
The cross-cultural collaboration generated interest among fans and raised expectations for a possible official collaboration between SB19 and Nakajima.

Nakajima also contributed lyrics to the performance, saying he initially felt pressure because “Gento” is an important song for SB19. He added that the group encouraged him to express himself and perform in his own style.
SB19 also reached another milestone with its live television debut in Japan on NTV’s morning program DayDay on August 13.
Member JUSTIN said the appearance required additional preparation and coordination, describing the opportunity to appear on Japanese television as a major honor for the group.
During the program’s Dotti Dotti segment, SB19 performed its latest single, “Lawless,” marking the song’s first performance in Japan.
The members also took part in a lighthearted game with host Ryota Yamasato, popularly known as Yama-chan.
JOSH said SB19’s activities in Japan represent an important step in the group’s international expansion, citing its collaborations with Japanese artists, Summer Sonic performances and television appearance.
KEN, meanwhile, expressed hope that the group will receive more opportunities to perform and appear in Japanese media as it builds a stronger connection with local audiences.
SB19’s Japanese edition of Wakas at Simula is also now available through Sony Music Japan at selected record stores and online retailers across Japan.
