MANILA, Philippines — Several local government units across the country have suspended face-to-face classes on Friday, August 7, due to the expected effects of Tropical Depression Maymay and the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat), which are forecast to bring heavy rains and possible flooding.
The following areas have announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in all levels, unless otherwise stated:

- Bulakan
- Malolos City
- San Rafael
- Santa Maria
Cavite
- Entire province
Laguna
- Face-to-face classes only
Metro Manila
- Caloocan City (face-to-face classes only)
- Las Piñas City
- Malabon City (face-to-face classes only)
- Manila (face-to-face classes only)
- Marikina City
- Muntinlupa City (face-to-face classes only)
- Parañaque City
- Pasay City (face-to-face classes only)
- Taguig City (face-to-face classes only)
- Valenzuela City
Occidental Mindoro
- Rizal (face-to-face classes only)
- Santa Cruz
Rizal Province
- Antipolo City (face-to-face classes only)
- Baras (face-to-face classes only)
- Binangonan (face-to-face classes only)
- Cardona (face-to-face classes only)
- Morong (face-to-face classes only)
- Tanay (face-to-face classes only)
- Teresa (face-to-face classes only)
Meanwhile, Quezon City suspended classes in public schools only, from preschool to senior high school, including learners under the Alternative Learning System (ALS).
Authorities advised residents and students to continue monitoring official announcements from their respective local government units, schools, and weather agencies as additional class suspensions may be declared depending on the movement of Tropical Depression Maymay and the prevailing weather conditions.
