MANILA, Philippines — Actress Ellen Adarna has put an end to speculation surrounding John Lloyd Cruz’s apparent absence from photos taken during their son Elias’ piano recital, explaining that the actor was present at the event but was unable to join the family picture due to illness.
Questions surfaced after Ellen shared photos and videos from the recital on social media, with netizens noticing that Cruz was missing from the family snapshots. The absence fueled online speculation that the actor had skipped the occasion.
To address the issue before it gained further traction, Ellen took to her Instagram Story and shared a screenshot of a news headline that read, “John Lloyd Cruz absent from son Elias’ piano recital.”
She then clarified that Cruz attended the recital with his family but was feeling unwell during the event.
“Present po siya at ‘yung family niya. Not feeling well siya kaya after tumugtog si Elias, nagpahinga siya sa car kaya ‘di nakasama sa picture. Lol,” Ellen wrote.
According to the actress, Cruz stayed through Elias’ performance before returning to their vehicle to rest, which explained why he was absent from the post-event photos.
Ellen has previously spoken highly of Cruz as a devoted and hands-on father, often describing him as a “present father” who makes it a point to attend their son’s important milestones and activities.
