MANILA, Philippines — A 38-member Philippine delegation will compete in the Pickleball World Cup in Da Nang, Vietnam, from August 30 to September 6.
The Philippine contingent is nearly five times larger than last year’s eight-player team, reflecting the country’s growing participation in the sport.
Leading the Philippine squad are Leander Lazaro and Sarah Jane Lim-Narvasa, along with Johnny Arcilla, Ruben Gonzales, Nik Isagan and Patrick Mendoza.
The Philippines is seeded 12th in the Open Division and has been drawn into Group I.
The Filipinos will face Lithuania, Argentina and Armenia in the group stage as they seek a strong showing in the international competition.
