Senator Christopher “Bong” Go assisted displaced workers and indigent residents in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, on June 27.
Tagged as “Mr. Malasakit,” Go, who is considered an adopted son of Puerto Princesa City, distributed food packs, vitamins, masks, shirts, basketballs, and volleyballs to around 3,000 citizens. Some recipients also received shoes, bikes, watches, and phones from Go. The distribution took place at Balayong People’s Park in Puerto Princesa.
In collaboration with Senator Go, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted an orientation for 1,000 eligible displaced workers, introducing them to the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers program, which aims to provide temporary employment to qualifying individuals.
On the same day, Senator Go also supported the city’s destitute and indigent residents while participating in the 41st Principals Training and Development Program Cum National Board Conference of the Philippine Elementary School Principals Association (PESPA).
Moreover, Senator Go expressed his gratitude to Puerto Princesa City’s local authorities, including Mayor Lucilo Bayron, Councillor Raine Bayron, and Councillor Elgin Robert Damasco, for their dedication to protecting the well-being of their residents. He also encouraged them to continue their efforts in promoting the growth and development of Puerto Princesa City and the entire province of Palawan.
The Malasakit Centers are located at the Ospital ng Palawan in Puerto Princesa City, the Southern Palawan Provincial Hospital in Brooke’s Point, and the Culion Sanitarium and General Hospital in Culion.
