Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the repeated Iranian attacks targeting the territories of the State of Kuwait, the State of Qatar, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan using missiles and drones directed at civilian and vital facilities. Bahrain described these attacks as a dangerous escalation that threatens the safety of civilians, regional security and stability, and constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Ministry affirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with the sisterly nations and reiterated their sovereign right to take all legitimate measures to defend their sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect their citizens and residents, in accordance with international law and Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which recognizes the inherent right of self-defense. The Ministry also praised the cooperation among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, their high level of readiness in confronting the Iranian attacks, and their collective efforts to defend the security of the region, its countries, peoples, and achievements.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s call on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take firm and decisive measures to compel Iran to cease its hostile actions, ensure the security and safety of international navigation, preserve regional and global peace and security, and comply fully with the rules of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and the Human Rights Council Resolution 61/16, in a manner that promotes security, stability, peace, and sustainable development in the region and the world.
