Mayor Alice Guo of Bamban, Tarlac, appeared again in the Senate’s second session, said to be tied to the unlawful operation of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) and criminals.
During the Senate Committee on Women hearing, chaired by Senator Risa Hontiveros, the chairman revealed Mayor Alice’s full identity.
The birth certificate states that her mother married Angelito on October 14, 1982, and then remarried on another date.
Guo also has siblings named Sheila Leal Guo and Seimen Leal Guo, who, according to the birth certificate, have the same parents.
Meanwhile, Senator Risa Hontiveros requested that the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) look into Mayor Alice’s parents’ marriage documents, which revealed that there were no marriage or birth certificates.
Hontiveros also asked the Commission on Elections (Comelec) what Mayor Alice’s obligation would be if it was discovered that her birth certificate was forged and she was not a legitimate Filipino.
According to Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia, resubmitting the Certificate of Candidature and filing a formal petition is not grounds for disqualification, but rather for cancellation of his candidature.
On the next hearing, the ex-mayor of Bamban will be invited for questioning as he’s the one who endorsed Guo and might know her true identity of Guo.
Further, the midwife, Brgy Chairman, customers and staff on the farm are also invited to the next hearing.
