A new platform from the Philippines is reshaping how films and series reach audiences. Launched on April 25, 2026, BLVCK Box is an international entertainment and e-commerce platform designed to connect independent filmmakers and content creators with audiences worldwide. The concept was originally developed by Engr. Louie Cristobal, while its marketing and public rollout are led by his wife, Engr. Grace Cristobal, reflecting a husband-and-wife partnership at the core of the platform’s development and expansion.
Unlike traditional streaming services that require monthly subscriptions, BLVCK Box uses a rent-to-watch model. Viewers only pay for the content they choose to watch, often starting at around ₱10 per title. Everything is streamed in high-quality 4K and can be accessed on smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and web browsers.
This approach gives viewers more control over their spending while also giving creators direct control over how their work is priced and distributed.

The platform is built as a direct support system for independent creators. It allows filmmakers to upload their work easily, set their own prices, receive automated payouts, and earn through affiliate tools. A single piece of content can reach both local and international audiences without going through traditional distribution channels.
As founder Engr. Grace Cristobal shared:
“Naisip namin itong mag-asawa, two years ago pa. Before, nag-a-upload (ng video) para meron kang memory na babalikan. Ngayon, number one thing is para mag-monetize para kumita ng pera. So, lahat naman tayo gumagawa ng content para kumita, hindi lang yan para i-post natin sa social media.

“So naisip naming mag-asawa na tayo namang mga producers o content creators ang mag-decide magkano ang puwede nating kitain. Tayo ang magse-set ng presyo natin dito. This is not a monthly subscription.
“Malaking tulong ito sa mga taong gustong manood, o yung may mga oras na manood… sino ba ang mga yan, mga masa yan. Sila yun puwede natin asahan na maraming views. Hindi naman lahat may platform na (Netflix)… so itong Blvckbox, afford nila ito. Kung kailan lang nila gustong manood at kung hanggang saan lang ang budget nila,” she said.
The platform officially launched at Gateway Mall 2 Cineplex in Quezon City, where it highlighted Filipino independent films, especially in the horror and indie genres.
BLVCK Box is based in Corporate 101 Building on Mother Ignacia Avenue in Quezon City and continues to grow alongside its sister company, BLVCKBox Entertainment. While it remains rooted in the local creative community, its goal is global reach.

For audiences, the platform offers a space to discover fresh stories outside mainstream streaming algorithms. For creators, it provides a direct way to earn from their work and reach a wider audience without relying on traditional gatekeepers.
Users can access BLVCK Box through theblvckbox.com or via its upcoming mobile app on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Creators can sign up, upload content, set their own prices, and start earning. Updates are available on Instagram at @blvckboxapp and on Facebook.

BLVCK Box is positioning itself as more than a streaming service. It is a platform built around choice, access, and creative independence—where stories are not just watched, but directly supported by the people who value them.
