Senator Christopher “Bong” Go extended assistance to households affected by a fire in Navotas City by dispatching his Malasakit Team to Tanza Annex Covered Court on June 28.
The team distributed snacks, shirts, masks, vitamins, basketballs, and volleyballs to the impacted families, in collaboration with Mayor John Rey Tiangco, Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez, and Councillors Abu Gino-gino, Cesar Justine “CJ” Santos, and Miguel “Migi” Naval. Additionally, selected beneficiaries also received shoes and a cell phone.
Senator Go’s efforts facilitated the National Housing Authority in providing Emergency Housing Assistance Programme (EHAP) funds to 56 eligible homes affected by the fire.
He is also pushing for Senate Bill No. 192, which aims to institutionalize the Rental Housing Subsidy Programme, providing disaster victims with better and more affordable access to the official housing market through government rental subsidies.
Furthermore, the senator urged residents with health issues to visit the Malasakit Centre at Navotas City Hospital, which was established under the Malasakit Centres Act, largely supported by Senator Go.
This act has led to the establishment of 165 centres across the country, benefiting roughly ten million disadvantaged Filipinos by expediting access to medical assistance from various government organizations.
