During the opening ceremony of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Iloilo Chapter Provincial Congress on Monday, July 8, at the SMX Convention Centre in Pasay City, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go reaffirmed his dedication to nurturing the future leaders of the Philippines.
In his speech, Go expressed gratitude to the youth and leaders of the SK Federation of Iloilo province for their warm reception. He highlighted the Congress as a crucial platform for cultivating capable and compassionate leaders.
The event was attended by Iloilo SK leaders, led by Board Member Esara Javier, as well as Senator Alan Cayetano, Congressman Lorenz Defensor, Governor Art Defensor, and Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano.
As a staunch advocate for the youth, Go discussed his legislative initiatives aimed at supporting local government and youth programs. Notably, he co-authored Republic Act No. 11768, which provides monthly honoraria and other benefits to SK leaders and allocates 10% of barangay funds for youth development programs.
