Acting Mayor Alice Guo will be replaced by the municipal councillor under the order of the ombudsman to dismiss her due to grave misconduct, said Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos.
Acting Municipal Councilor Erano Timbang will be Bamban’s Mayor for three months, said Abalos,.
Timbang was, after all, exonerated by the anti-graft court for being apprehensive about the issuing of the raided POGOs.
Abolos rationalized that “Konsehal siya ng Sangguniang Bayan. Councilor siya pero nag-oppose nung kinukuha ang permit. Since he opposed, he was absolved or acquitted by the Ombudsman.”
Abalos said Limbang will took his oathtaking at Camp Crame in Quezon City last August 14. Meanwhile, he said for the suspension of other local officials, he had already directed the DILG regional director to submit a report as to how to fill the vacant positions.
