The Department of Justice will look into whether suspended Mayor Alice Guo of Bamban, Tarlac, has left this country.
Spokesman for the DOJ, Atty. Mico Clavano stated that no notification of her leaving the Bureau of Immigration has been received by the department as of yet.
Atty. Clavano contradicted the statement of Sen. Risa Hontiveros that Mayor Guo left the country stating “as far as we know, Mayor Guo is still in the country.”
He added that Guo was seen after July 18.
Moreover, Clavano said that Guo filed a motion with a counter-affidavit at the DOJ on Friday, that was notarized in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan on August 14.
Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission spokesman Dr Winston Casio stated in a tweet that the PAOCC was working with international peers and local partners to confirm Guo’s departure.
