Dr. Nick Vera Perez (NVP), recognized for his philanthropy and musical contributions, fulfilled a commitment made last year by hosting his annual “Red Christmas” celebration at Wheatland Salem Church (WSChurch). The event drew nearly 200 attendees, including numerous children, who filled the venue with holiday cheer. In addition, the celebration supported WSChurch through NVP1World’s Smileworld Charities, reinforcing Dr. NVP’s ongoing mission to encourage acts of kindness through his “help others help others help” initiative.

The evening offered more than a traditional holiday gathering. Each child received a red-wrapped gift, attendees participated in raffles and games, and a full buffet was provided, fulfilling the promises made by Dr. NVP in the previous year. The program also highlighted the church’s multicultural identity, uniting families from diverse backgrounds through music and shared festive experiences.
A series of performances captivated the audience throughout the evening. The Slavic Group of Children’s Choir from Russia and Ukraine opened the program, followed by notable performances from Tatyana and Oleg Sigidin, Olga Kushnir, and pianist-conductor Masha Yevdash. Dr. NVP also took the stage alongside vocalists Carol Cortez and Evelyn O. Francia, creating a memorable display of artistry and community spirit. The event’s success has inspired plans to elevate “Red Christmas” into a full gala by 2027.

In closing remarks, Dr. NVP announced the continuation of his Album 5: Unafraid Illinois Churches Tour 2025, which will run through February 1, 2026. Following the tour, NVP1World will host its annual dance event, Saltare, on April 25, 2026 at 5:30 PM, featuring a tropical sunrise theme inspired by Album 6: Dancing in the Ocean. Additionally, the organization is preparing for its 8th-year anniversary ball on August 8, 2026 at 5:30 PM, marking another milestone in NVP1World’s ongoing journey of community engagement and artistic celebration.
