It assured the public of readiness for all possible risks associated with rain and other effects of La Niña, following the declaration by the state weather bureau, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
DSWD emphasized that its Disaster Response and Management Bureau is preparing for response operational directives relating to La Niña, working alongside different government departments and agencies towards a harmonised disaster response.
In connection with all readiness measures by the DSWD, all Quick Response Teams have been activated to provide immediate assistance to communities that are likely to be affected by Tropical Storm Mirasol or any other disasters that may occur.
Moreover, these measures will be taken to protect people and families who have been displaced due to adverse weather conditions.
The agency is also firming up its collaborative preparations with its regional field offices and local government units to provide timely assistance, delivery of relief goods, and psychosocial support to affected families.
