Ang proklamasyon na naglalagay sa Region IV-A (Calabarzon), Bicol Region, Western Visayas at ang Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) sa state of calamity, pinirmahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na nagsasaad nito, sa loob ng anim na buwan dahil sa pinsalang iniwan ng bagyong Paeng.
Ang pagdeklara ng pangulo ay batay sa Proclamation No. 84 na inilabas ngayon ng Malacañang na nag-aatas sa lahat ng mga concerned government department nito at agencies na puspusang “rescue”, relief and rehabilitation measures” sa mga ibang lugar na lubos na naaapektuha ng pananalasa ni bagyong “Paeng.”
“All departments and other concerned government agencies are also directed to coordinate with the LGUs to provide or augment the basic services and facilities of affected areas,” nakapaloob sa proclamation na pinirmahan para sa pangulo ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
Ito ay ayon sa Proclamation No. 84 maaari ring isama ng president sa declaration ng state of calamity kung kinakailangan doon sa mga apektadong lugar depende na rin sa rekomendasyon ng NDRRMC.
Ang higit 1.4 milyong mga residente ang mga naapektuhan sa Calabarzon (Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon and Rizal) Western Visayas, Bicol Region at ang BARMM dahil sa sama ng panahon.
The declaration will also allow the government to effectively control prices of basic necessities and prime commodities and enable both the national and local governments to utilize their funds for rescue, recovery, and rehabilitation measures.
