Kuh Ledesma issued a serious, grave warning to fellow Filipinos in the midst of government corruption, and natural disasters like typhoons and earthquakes,
“Evil is even going to escalate as coming of the Lord getting near. We are living in the end times. There will be a seven-year tribulation most religions don’t know about,” she said at the press conference for “Greatest Love of All: Christmas Special”, a benefit show on Sunday, Nov. 23, 6 pm at Tent City, The Manila Hotel.
The OPM Pop Diva insisted that this is why we should pray, choose the words we speak, and the things we watch. She adds that a life spent in worldly, worthless things is a waste of God’s gift.
She admits staying in the dark 26 years ago, when she thought living in is fine when you’re in love. It was only when she and her husband, Louie Gonzales parted ways that she started reading the Bible. At first, she admitted she wanted to remarry because she needed someone to inspire her as she sings.
In fact, she can’t believe “this God of ours will lead me to be alone.”
Then came enlightenment. Kuh realized it’s not about being sexy, wealthy and beautiful. It’s about faith.
“I didn’t have power in my prayer. I wasn’t as prayerful as I should have been for my husband, or for me. It had to take something as drastic as my husband walking out of our marriage for me to be so desperate to find out what God’s will was for my life”.
That will, she knows, is using her influence to bring people closer to God. Kuh’s repertoire has drastically changed from the way it was years back. She shuns worldly songs. If ever she does, Kuh, a born-again Christian, connects the songs to the Bible. She is also partial to gospel songs.
Kuh found a kindred spirit in former senator Joey Lina, president of The Manila Hotel and a singer by avocation. Kuh and Lina will perform the famous inspirational song “The Prayer” in the early part of the show.
The concert aims to to raise funds for the Children’s First 1000 Days Holistic Development Program, an advocacy that underscores the critical importance of proper nutrition and care during a child’s formative years.
Other performers are former Press Secretary Atty. Mike T. Toledo; Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Dr. Renato “Rene” Solidum, Jr, Kuh’s daughter Isabella, Bobby Alvarez, Egay Rubiano, Egay Banaag, and Jeffrey Panado, with special performances by Rachel Verns, Pam Esquivel, and Rachelle Rule.
Musical director is Timothy John Cruz and overall directors are George Sison-Tagle and Paul Dizon.
