In connection with the investigation of the alleged involvement of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo in illegal POGOs and crime syndicates, her lawyer, Atty. Stephen David clarified that he will not force his client to answer any question that she doesn’t want to answer.
Guo is due to appear before the Senate on Monday, September 9, 2024. Her counsel added he would advise her to cooperate, but would not allow her to say anything that could be used against her.
According to reports, it was on the eve of her hearing that Guo got sick in her detention camp at Camp Crame due to a stomach upset after drinking tap water. She had recovered by Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, PNP spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo said the following about the incident: “She wasn’t used to tap water, so she requested bottled water, which was granted.”
Guo will be escorted in tight security to the Senate at 8 a.m. Monday, and he will wear a bulletproof vest and handcuffs.
