The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) has offered a P100,000 reward for anyone with information on the location of former Palawan Governor Joel Reyes.
Reyes was accused as the mastermind behind the killing of former broadcaster Gerardo Valeriano “Doc Gerry” Ortega.
Ortega was shot on January 4, 2011, in a business in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
According to Paul Gutierrez, Executive Director of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS), he spoke with PAOCC Chief Gilbert Cruz and agreed to award a reward monet to apprehend Reyes.
According to Gutierrez, condemning violence and killings is insufficient; the perpetrators or those who engage in violence must be held accountable.
Last year, the Supreme Court cancelled Reyes’ bail and ordered his re-arrest to face his charges.
Meanwhile, Gutierrez also urged Reyes to surrender and respect the country’s legal system.
