In a significant development, Paulene Canada was apprehended on Thursday, July 11, at approximately 2 p.m. within the Emily Homes Subdivision of Barangay Buhangin. The arrest followed a coordinated operation conducted by the Davao region police, Intelligence Group, Special Action Force, and Criminal Investigation Group.
Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos confirmed Canada’s capture, which was part of a larger effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies. The operation culminated in a joint press conference today, July 12, where the Philippine National Police, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines publicly presented Canada.
Paulene Canada is a co-accused in Pastor Quiboloy’s ongoing human trafficking and child abuse cases. She is notably listed as the sixth most wanted fugitive by Police Regional Office 11, responsible for Davao’s policing.
An anonymous bounty of P1 million had been placed on her capture, underscoring the high-profile nature of her case. Other respondents in the Quiboloy cases, namely Cresente Canada, Ingrid Canada, Jackielyn Roy, and Sylvia Cemanes, also each have a P1 million bounty.
In a surprising turn, Pastor Quiboloy himself has offered a P10 million reward for any information that could lead to his capture, adding a dramatic twist to the unfolding events.
