Pinangaralan bilang bagong Miss United Continents 2022 ay si Camelle Mercado ng Pilipinas, na naging dahilan upang siya ang pangalawang Pinay na nanalo ng korona.
Si Joanna Camelle Mercado, na kumakatawan sa Pilipinas, ay tinalo ang 24 na iba pang kalahok upang manalo bilang Miss Continentes Unidos 2022 (Miss United Continents 2022) noong Sabado, Agosto 6 sa Parque Las Vegas sa Portoviejo, Ecuador.
Miss United Continents Camelle Mercado ng Pilipinas
Nasungkit ni Mercado ang titulo sa mga pageant ceremonies sa Ecuador noong Sabado (Linggo oras ng Pilipinas).
Ang 26-anyos na resort ambassador mula sa Floridablanca, Pampanga, ay mayroong bachelor’s degree sa secondary education at nagtrabaho bilang isang guro. Siya ang pangalawang babae mula sa Pilipinas na nanalo ng korona kasunod ni Jeslyn Santos.
Ang tagumpay ay dumating anim na taon matapos makuha ni Jeslyn Santos ang unang korona ng Miss United Continents noong 2016.
Tinalo ni Mercado ang 24 na iba pang entries sa patimpalak na karaniwang pinangungunahan ng mga bansa sa Latin America.
Noong una ay tinawag na Miss American Continent, tinanggap lamang ng pageant ang mga kalahok mula sa mga bansa sa North, Central, at South America. Ngunit pagkatapos makakuha ng malawak na internasyonal na pagtanggap, pinalawak ng mga organizer ang kompetisyon sa buong mundo at pinangalanan itong Miss United Continents.
