President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. scored 50 percent in the new Pulse Asia survey of approval and trust ratings for the country’s top leaders.
The latest public opinion survey by Pulse Asia was released on Monday and was conducted nationwide from September 6 to 13, 2024.
Fifty percent of the respondents gave Marcos a passing grade in terms of approval and trust ratings-a slight drop from the previous Pulse Asia poll conducted last June when Marcos scored 53% in rating his performance as generally good and 52% in trust rating. In the latest poll, 29 percent of the respondents were undecided, while 21 percent declared themselves dissatisfied. Distrust in the President has increased slightly, with 22 percent saying they have little or no confidence, and 28 percent remain undecided.
Regionally, Marcos’s approval rating was the highest at 61% in Luzon and at 52% in the Metro and the Visayas. His lowest approval came from Mindanao at 26%. Trust ratings were the same, with the highest coming from Balance Luzon at 64% and the lowest in Mindanao at 21%.
From a class perspective, Marcos performed the best with Class D income group respondents for whom he received a 52 percent approval and trust rating.
