In a statement, DTI Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual stated that on May 16, they met with Baladna officials in Qatar to explore the company’s investment in the country.
A major milk, dairy, and juice producer in Qatar intends to develop a large-scale, fully integrated dairy factory in the Philippines.
Pascual stated that the Philippine government is ready to assist Baladna in its planned investments in the country. Through a whole-government approach, the DTI and the Board of Investments are ready to support business-to-business discussions and introductions to possible joint venture partners for Baladna.
DTI Sec said that the Department of Agriculture (DA) is also actively identifying suitable locations for the company’s facilities.
Pascual stated that the DTI will work with the DA to ensure a level playing field for all milk and dairy producers in the country.
