Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez said Filipinos should be proud of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for his powerful message at the 21st International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.
President Marcos’ speech focused on the Philippines’ commitment to peace and the rule of law.
He also reiterated the Philippines’ adherence to the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the 2016 Arbitral Award, which acknowledges the country’s maritime rights in the West Philippine Sea.
President Marcos emphasised in his speech the necessity of discussion and diplomacy in settling differences and his stand to defend every inch of Philippine territory against invasion.
Moreover, speaker Romualdez emphasised the President’s pledge to protect every mile of our territory.
He also emphasised the House of Representatives’ complete support for President Marcos Jr.’s strategic initiative to develop the country’s defence capability and build the Philippines’ sovereignty so that every Filipino can feel the grace of patrimony.
