Winwyn Marquez was chosen as Queen Elena for the Grand Santacruzan 2026.
Marquez’s only goal is to prove that she is the perfect choice for the role.
She turned heads during the contract signing between the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) and the Intramuros Administration (IA).
When asked about the decision to choose Winwyn, the PTAA president simply replied, “Why not Winwyn?”
The association has always selected role models who can proudly represent Filipinos and the country’s culture.
Winwyn’s achievement as the first Filipina titleholder of Reina Hispanoamericana is considered a major advantage.
There is no doubt that Winwyn is one of the finest Reyna Elenas to grace Intramuros.
Winwyn admitted that she feels pressure, but clarified that it has nothing to do with her looks or outfit.
She said, “I don’t think I’m the best, but I’m honored to be here. It’s about showing your true Filipino values. I want people to see the real tradition.”
Many say the Grand Santacruzan is not just a parade, but also a celebration of respect and humility — values that reflect the true spirit of being Filipino.
The Grand Santacruzan will be held on May 22 at 5 p.m.
However, many are still asking: Why did Winwyn withdraw from Miss Grand International All Stars?
